Seabase Day One, Saturday, June 9 - Travel Day

Friday - Travel day
Arrived at Tampa about 12:15 AM
Stayed at Motel 6
Had breakfast at Waffle House
Headed to Orlando about 10:30 AM
Arrived in Orlando a short hour later
Checked into our campground, Our home for the next five days, Tropical Palms
Set-up tents and the boys headed to the pool
Later in the afternoon we headed to Disney Downtown and picked up our tickets for tomorrow
Then had a late lunch-early supper at Pizza Hut
Shopping at WalMart - misc and breakfast supplies

Back to campground for some volleyball and back in the pool
A short church service, some desert, showers, and into the tents
We heard about grass/brush fires north of Disney World may impact tomorrows activities
Also heard about a tropical depression headed our way.
The locals refer to the "H", but never say the "H" word.
Will try to send more tomorrow
 

Seabase Day Two, Sunday, June 11 - Disney World MGM Studio Park

Sunday - Disney
Arrived at Disney World for Youth Education Series at 8:30
Learned about animation and got to do some drawing
Guys really enjoyed learning to draw Goofy, they all want to draw Goofy now
Got to go into some attractions early as the only people at the attraction
It was the last day of "Star Wars Weekends" today, with lots of Star wars charackers and fans in the park
Guys said Rockin' Roller was awesome, 0-60 in 2.8 seconds with loops and rolls
We all rode Tower of Terror, dropped 13 stories, got the picture of all of us on the ride
Rained for a while
The "Lights, Motors, Acction - Stunt Show" was exciting, cars jumping, driving on two wheels
After leaving the park for the evening we stopped at a Chinese Buffet and the guys loaded up on Chinese food
Back at the campsite and the guys are playing volleyball
Weather is good for the now

Seabase Day Three, Monday, June 12 - Magic Kingdom Park

Monday - Disney Magic Kingdom
Awoke to rain early in the morning (a precurssor of things to come
Tropical storm Alberto was heading for Florida
Ate breakfast in the rain at the campground

Parked, rode the monorail in, took pictures out front, headed in to get Fast Pass tickets for Space Mountain
Space Mountain is an inside rollercoaster, in the dark
It was raining, we drove the minature race cars in the rain
Went to "Space Mountain", it was broke down, would have to come back later
Went to "Stitch's Great Escape", it started and broke down, we had to leave
Clancy, Kyle, Damon, and Cliff went to "Buz Lightyear's Spinning Space Adventure, it broke down, we were stuck inside for about 15 minutes
Everyone went their own way
It rained and rained and rained somemore
Everyone went back to "Space Mountain"
Damon, Kyle, and Peter got stuck while on "Splash Mountain"
Oh, and it rained somemore
We all went "back to Space Mountain"
That eveing we watched the fireworks show at Magic Kingdom
What a fireworks and light display, everyone was impressed
Went back to "Space Mountain" afterward, and rode again
And again, and again ... Nine times, the guys wanted to go for an even ten, but it was after 11:00 PM and the ride closed
It rained
Oh, and the guys said Adam was flirting with one of the "Space Mountain" operators, imagine that
Headed to the campground and to eat, everthing was closed, so we had to do a Wendy's drive-thru, and eat at tables at the campground
 

Seabase Day Four, Tuesday, June 13 - Typhoon Lagoon Water Park and Epcot

It rained off and on through the night
Everything is damp and won't dry out
The boys keep getting up later each morning, after 8:30 this morning
Tropical storm Alberto was heading into the Florida panhandle, but still affecting our weather
Ate breakfast at the campground, in the rain again
Got to Typhoon Lagoon, and guess what, it started raining
Everyone enjoyed the wave pool, 5 foot waves to body surf on (or at least try to body surf on
Water sildes, tubing, wave pool, rain, tubing, you get the idea....
It stopped raining and we headed over to Epcot
GM Test Track (ride) was filled for the day, so we picked up Fast Passes for" Mission Space"
Had a late lunch, met back for "Mission Space
They put you into a simulated rocket cockpit, and spin you very fast to simulate a rocket launch and space flight
The guys went back four or five more times
Gather at the Japan display, lake side at 9:00 PM for the fireworks and laser show
Good show
Made our way through the crowds to the van and headed for supper and the campground
First three resturants we tried were closed, we ended up at Arbys
We headed back to our campsite, everyone was tired

Seabase Day Five, Wednesday, June 14 - Blizzard Beach Water Park and Animal Kingdom

It wasn't raining this morning
We ate breakfast out this morning at a buffet
Headed to Animal Kingdom
First pretty morning and everyone want to go to the parks, boy was it crowded
We went straight to Mount Everest Expedition (rollercoaster ride) to get Fast Passes
By 10:15 the first pass we could get was for 4:20 PM, so the guys decided to head over to Blizzard Beach Water Park
Chris's glasses had come off at Space Mountain on Monday, so we went to Lost and Found, but no luck
As soon as we got out of the van to head into Blizzard Beach, guess what, yes it started raining
But it soon cleared off
The boys got in line for Summit Plunge, a 200 some feet water slide, with sliders reaching speeds of 50-60 mph
After about an hour's wait in line they all came flying down
Then a trip down the Rafting Rapids and a float around the park on the Lazy River
And then after running into some girls from Philly, another float around the park (one said "I never even met someone from Wyoming")
A few more water slides and we headed back to Animal Kingdom
A wide ride on the the Everest Expedition and then some late lunch
Then a visit to "It's Tough to Be a Bug" 3-D experience, quite enjoyable
Back to camp early, to do laundry and prepare to leave in the morning
Moms, your son's can do laundry, I have pictures to prove it
A little vollyball and video games
Late supper a KFC, they acted as if this was the highligt of the day, taking pictures of each other
A swim in the pool and time to turn in
We are off to Kennedy Space Center tomorrow, and then heading toward Seabase tomorrow evening
We will camp some where along the way
I am unsure when I will have an internet connection again, but stay tuned and check for updates on the website
